Stunning newspaper stand headline poster from 1913 referring to one of the most significant and debated moments in womens suffragette history. On June 4th 1913, Emily Davison, carrying two flags, stepped onto the racetrack during the running of the Derby and was struck by Anmer, the horse owned by King George V. She was knocked unconscious and died on the 8th June - two days after the headline of this paper.
Totally original, great colours and aged paper. Letterpress printed on VERY thin paper. Amazing that something ephemeral has survived 120 years. Found under the flooring of Birmingham Pub! Condition – as seen, shipped rolled.
Width: 54cm. Height: 76cm.
