Absolutely Stunning 1950/60s Eames Office Chair
Very rare original, late 1950s/early 1960s Eames chair made by Hille of London under licence of Herman Miller.
This is the first generation of the iconic EA Eames office chairs produced between 1957-1965 and differ slightly in design to the later versions that are still produced today.
This one has an aluminium frame, an orange Naugahyde cover and the original Hille/Herman Miller label. It has a fixed base with original nylon glides.
Hille produced Eames chairs for Herman Miller in Europe from the late 1950s for just over a decade, this chair has the original “Herman Miller Made by Hille of London” sticker beneath the seat, and as it is a first-generation design, was likely made in the late 1950s to early 1960s.
In good condition BUT it does have a repair - the base section has been welded to the seat section (see photos).
