2000 - Darrell and Julia set up Sukie after Darrell graduates from the Royal College of Art and Julia leaves her job the buying department at House of Fraser. Sukie are commissioned by Habitat to produce a range of notebooks, cards and wrapping paper. Other clients include Egg, Vessel and mint in London and DKNY in New York. 2001 - Sukie expand their range of products to include silkscreen printed Travel Journals, Kids Journals, Rescued Paper Notebooks and lined Notebooks. Move from Notting Hill to Brighton and share studio with friends (Pippa Knowles - jewellery, David Foldvari and Jasper Goodall - illustrators). 2002 - Introduce a range of textiles; including cushions and hankies as well as new notebooks. 2003 - More notebooks and
textiles as well as commissions from Paperchase,DKNY, Aveda, Ted Baker
and fashion labels in Italy and Japan. First Exhibition at the New
York International Gift Fair where we make lots of new 2004 - New Nubuck covered journals, Plain Lined Notebooks and Indian Exercise Books are added to the Sukie range. Darrell and Julia get married! 2005 - Sukie design a range of laptop bags and ipod sleeves for Gymspacific. Add a range of Tea Towels to the Sukie catalogue. Kitty Sofia Gibbs is born! 2006 - new products include 4 new cushions, new Address book, new hankies, Sketch books, Tea Towels, Indian Exercise Books and Nubuck covered Journal. Work on a range of products for Chronicle Books - watch this space! 2007 - New projects include the new Sukie Agenda, Plain Lined and Turn over a New Leaf Book. Projects for the lovely Chronicle Books were Sticky Notes, Letter Box, Correspondence Cards, Address Book and Box of labels. 2008 - Twins Oscar and jacob are born! Four new Travel Journals, a Junior Travel Journal and a cool scrap Book join the Sukie range. There will be a new range of books and textiles for the summer. New products for Chronicle Books that are due for release later this year are a perpetual Calendar and a Mix and Match Stationery Set. There will also be two more Chronicle projects that we will keep you posted with. We will also be working with www.nineteenseventythree.com to produce some wrapping paper and wallpaper! |
